SRI LANKA TO INTRODUCE 1990 AMBULANCE SERVICES TO KEY TOURIST DESTINATIONS LATER THIS YEAR AsianMIRROR reports the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority announcement that the 1990 Ambulance service would be introduced to some key tourist destinations later this year. It reports 1990 advisor Dumindra Ratnayakas stating that tourist sites and the places where the ambulances will be located are: Sigiriya – Habarana Police Station( 12km), Yala – Katharagama Police Station( 2.4 km), Ella – Ella Police Station (700m), Passikudha – Kalkudha Police Station (650m), Arugambay – Pottuvill Police Station (6 km).” 1990 is Sri Lanka’s very first fully fledged free pre-hospital care ambulance service with state of the art fully equipped vehicles.
