CINNAMON COLOMBOSCOPE ARTS FESTIVAL POISED TO ENERGISE SRI LANKA’S VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS The much-anticipated Cinnamon Colomboscope 2017 arts festival is once again poised to energise Sri Lanka’s visual and performing arts—and promote tourism—with the focus this year on Earth and the environment. With the theme Re/Evolution, it zooms in on “human impact on the earth and the destruction of our environment. Environmental sustainability is no longer a ‘niche’ issue but one affecting us all, globally.” To be staged at the former Colombo terminus railway station, Maradana, from September 2–7, the festival “supports local and international artists to create engaging, daring work that connects with the world alongside the festival theme”.
