MASSIVE BEACH CLEANUP AT TOP TOURIST RESORT OF NEGOMBO, DUBBED THE ‘GATEWAY TO SRI LANKA’ A massive beach cleanup at the west-coast tourist resort of Negombo, dubbed the ‘gateway to Sri Lanka’ has proved a huge success. More than 5,000 volunteers, including schoolchildren, scoured the shore for discarded plastic bottle and other detritus.
